Wednesday April 19th Lake Charles!

Day 1 of working – there are about 16 brothers (+ 1 sister) with us. We all met up for breakfast. Like anything we do as a group, the food is always great. I am putting some pix of the “regional hub” here. We are at a KH in Lake Charles. Many of the friends have had a TON of damage from hurricane Rita. The first pass through, from what we hear, was lots of wind damage then a week of rain. The roofs ripped off, siding off and next thing you know contents are ruined and mold problems were there. We will be doing mostly finish work and finalizing trim, paint, carpet, flashing, etc. tough work for a bunch of hammer swinging framing monkeys that we are. We had a great morning learning about what was needed from us, more about what the locals had experienced (more on that later, I am spent and need some sleep). I am posting some pix of the damage we have seen and what the Hub we are at looks like. Our efforts are directed locally by the Baton Rouge Regional RBC. Locally we have approx. a 15K sq feet. Warehouse for equipment with trucks coming in everyday from the larger warehouse in Illinois. Much more on the friends, what they have experienced and what we are doing hopefully tomorrow. The pix attached are a bit of our hub, some damage we saw today and others.
Thanks for joining me on this awesome journey!

Thanks for supporting the work. I know we all wish we could be there to help also. Take care and say Hi to the brothers there for us. :)
