Note the damage they suffered. check out the local wildlife in the pix that didn't make it through the hurricane.

Friday we dropped off our tools and gear in Long Beach to Dave Kolbo. Dave is in the Cypress congregation and is our coordinator for the trip. Dave has put in a TON of hours and resources to coordinate our trip. There are 16 of us heading to Lake Charles, LA. We will be there Mon/Tues of this week returning as a group on the 24th. What we know so far is that we will mostly be working on the friends homes and will be staying near a KH that is a hub for the relief efforts. Rumor has it we might be camping on the floor in a mobile home a brother has lent for RBC workers traveling in. I am hoping to be able to update on Tuesday or Wednesday when we arrive. Our group, Aaron, Vince and I, leave Tuesday afternoon from Orange County/John Wayne and fly to Houston where we will drive across to Lake Charles. below is a link to a map showing Lake Charles. It is along I-10 between Beaumont Texas and Lafayette LA. http://maps.yahoo.com/py/maps.py?Pyt=Tmap&&csz=Lake+Charles+LA+&Get%A0Map=Get+Map

My plan is to update each day with pix and info on what we did, where we were, etc.

Cool!
Hi-- You must be busy or in shock...It's Tuesday evening & I want an update! Seriously, I am (we all are) interested in what really has been accomplished in restoring life to the perimeter areas, how the brothers are faring, do they have work and are able to sustain their lives or have they moved away. I know the coast is toast for now, but what about your area you all have zero-ed in on?...
